NSF IGERT Internal Pre-Proposals due Feb. 1st in Research Office

An internal competition for NSF's Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship Program (IGERT) is being conducted. Faculty interested in submitting a proposal for the UNT internal competition, must submit the following information to Research Services, Sarah Sprinkle, Sarah.Sprinkle@unt.edu, no later than Monday, February 1, 2010, at 5:00pm:

______ Project Summary will need to include the following information:

1. List of participants including departmental and institution/organization affiliation of all faculty members and other senior personnel expected to have an important role in the project. (1-page limit)

2. Describe:
• the vision, goals, and anticipated impact of the proposed IGERT projects;
• the thematic basis and unifying aspects of the interdisciplinary research and educational activities to be offered;
• the major research efforts, their transformative aspects and how they are interwoven and integrated to form the thematic basis for the interdisciplinary project;
• the graduate education and training mechanisms central to the IGERT project, and how they are to be integrated with the research and across the disciplines; and
• the recruitment and mentoring plans, career development opportunities. (3 page limit)

______ Describe anticipated resource commitments to the IGERT project by other participating organizations, such as industry, government, non-U.S. institutions, and private foundations. (1-page limit)

______ CVs and Current/Pending Support of UNT personnel involved

______ If you have previously submitted to an NSF IGERT program solicitation and have been declined, you must include the reviewer’s comments received with the declination letter.
