Student/Faculty Research Grant Program - Deadline March 1

Program Description: On behalf of the College of Information, the Texas Center for Digital Knowledge (TxCDK) manages funds to support collaborative research activities between students in the Interdisciplinary Information Science Ph.D. program and UNT faculty members. This document describes the guidelines for the 2010 competition. See the Student/Faculty Research Grant Policy* for further details about the program.

Deadline for Proposals: March 1, 2010 at 5:00 pm Central Standard Time

Eligibility: Interdisciplinary Information Science Ph.D. students and doctoral candidates in good standing may apply.

The project must involve at least one faculty member, is not intended to support dissertation research, but may support pre-dissertation pilot studies.

Award Amount: Students may apply for up to a maximum award of $3000.

Award Determination: Winning proposals will be announced by April 1, 2010. Criteria include but are not limited to relevance to information science, problem significance, writing quality, and likelihood of enhancing student’s academic experience.

Grant Period: Projects must be completed within a 12 month period, ending no later than 13 months from award notification AND before successful dissertation defense of the student.
