Visual Thinking Laboratory News

During the Fall 2010 term Brian O’Connor, founding director of the Visual Thinking Laboratory (VTL), will be on faculty development leave. Dr. O’Connor will be developing a book on photography and concepts of verisimilitude. While on leave he will have no official obligations through the lab, but he will be maintaining contact with on-going projects and occasionally conducting image research related to the book project.

The Visual Thinking Laboratory has consolidated its space. Actual photography used to take place in the space next to the TxCDK main office; those functions have been moved to E292N, next door to the VTL space for image manipulation and printing. This will facilitate research activities as well as the occasional teaching functions associated with the Digital Imaging Program of Study.

Melody McCotter, a founding member of the Visual Thinking Laboratory and Ph.D. student, is now the VTL Project Coordinator.

Dr. O’Connor plans to post progress on his photography book on the VTL blog space: vtl.unt.edu
